As news broke out on the FBI raid conducted on the president’s personal Attorney, the president dismissed the actions as just mere witch hunt against America by the special appointed counsel of Robert Mueller.
In a meeting with top officials, Trump had this to say about the Mueller probe, “It’s a disgraceful situation. It’s a total witch hunt,” said Trump, who claimed that he had “given over a million pages in documents to the special counsel. They continue to just go forward … and I have this witch hunt constantly going on for over 12 months now. Actually it’s much more than that. You could say right after I won the 2016 Republican nomination it started.”
Trump since then have accused the Mueller counsel as the most biased group of people who had no national interest in them. He said that it was sad to see Jeff sessions leave the Russia Investigation and termed it as let down to the American people.
A close source from the White House said that the government viewed the investigations as ‘out of control’ and was nothing but a portrayal of bad faith on the part of the counsel. The counsel is also accused of being biased whereby the president has termed it as a move to bring him down. According to Trump, the Mueller’s counsel is composed of Clinton’s people who have made it an objective to bring him down since he won the elections in 2016.
In a recent conducted research by the Whitehouse, it was revealed that 17 of the Attorneys in the Mueller’s investigation team were either Democrats or had made Democratic political donations. This has left many with questions regarding the truthfulness of the Russia Investigation being done.
Under the Justice Department regulations, Mueller is required to consult with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein when his investigators uncover new evidence that may fall outside his original mandate. Rosenstein then would determine whether to allow Mueller to proceed or to assign the matter to another U.S. attorney or another part of the Justice Department.
Cohen the president’s personal attorney attracted attention after he acknowledged the claims that he paid out Daniels out of his own cash $130,000 before the 2016 elections to conceal of the sexual encounter that the adult film maker had with Trump. He defended the president saying that he was unaware of the payments as it was not refunded back. There has been request to investigate the matter from different groups as it was termed to be a violation against the campaign finance laws.
In a statement from Whitehouse, President Trump has consistently denied the claims of having the affair and dismissed the allegations that he was aware of the payments made by Cohen; Mueller has however showed interest in investigating the matter and thus putting together the occurrence of the raid and the envious reports produced by the Mueller Counsel.
“Why don’t I just fire Mueller .Well, I think it’s a disgrace what’s going on. We’ll see what happens, but I think it’s really a sad situation when you look at what happened. “And many people have said, ‘You should fire him… So we’ll see what happens … this is a pure and simple witch hunt.” Said Trump
